In the morning I open the workshop. It is quiet. I make coffee, look at the work and begin. In the wood I see the shape of the tree. The texture is pleasant. This is where I feel at home.
From Apeldoorn to Utrecht. Trained as a furniture maker at the Hout en Meubileringscollege in Amsterdam.

How I work.

1. Conversation
We talk about what you're looking for, where it will stand and what you expect from it. Just talking, sketching and taking notes. Only once that's clear do we move on.

2. Selection
We go to the timber yard. Together if you like, otherwise I go alone, but always with your project in mind. You pick the wood. I tell you what I see in it. We decide from there.

3. Structure
Joints are made to be seen. Nothing is hidden that does not need to be.

4. Finish
We tailor the finish to use and preference. My own preference is hardwax oil, which protects the wood without sealing it off, keeping its warmth and feel intact.
